The Heartbeat of Time

‘The Heartbeat of Time’ was filmed on location at HATCH, on the stage where it was shown for the exhibition TIME at HATCH, Langport. Performed on an ancient, circular stage in a huge, old, dirty, atmospheric, disused factory chicken barn. Rough around the edges, filmed while artists meander around creating noise, dust and floodlighting the barn. The cat and chickens roaming about and the gramophone filling the air, it was a wonderful place to be.

Produced, choreographed, edited & performed by Amanda Shears.

‘The Heartbeat of Time’ pulsates through the performance.
The concept of emerging from the earth, fresh and excited by birth and new life. As time gets faster & faster and we begin living under the constraints of time, constantly being pulled from the present to the past to the future to the present, until eventually we fall and emerge back to the earth where we came. Where there is no time..there is no time..

Streams of Subconscious.

A stream of subconscious born from me obsessively YouTubing the subject of TIME. Most notably Sean Carroll, a physicist. I scribbled odd words and phrases on paper around my home and verbalised the thoughts on film one night in the barn.
